Located on a corner plot with popular seating under awnings around the exterior walls is the small and thin laminate floored Richmond Pub. The L-shaped serving counter on the rear wall supports four hand pumps, three of which were in use drawing Salopian’s Hop Twister and Shropshire Gold alongside Brimstage Brewery’s New Zealand Pale. To the left of the counter are some tables and chairs and to the right are banquettes under a television that was airing muted horse racing while some background music played both inside and out. The very friendly barman injected a bit of atmosphere which made my Monday afternoon visit pleasant enough to consider returning.

Brainy Pool left this review about Richmond Pub
pleasant little corner pub in the city centre and it usually sells a local real ale when I have been in. Outside seating to watch shoppers passing by. Sadly it’s very very small indeed so your chances of getting a table in here are low.

Sometimes good sometimes bad. The Lord Warden on London Rd and The Victoria Cross on Sir Thomas St are owned by the same lot.
