So you take an old building turned into a pub, paint the walls dark green or red, play Irish music and serve Guinness, Murphy's and Caffrey's. Yep, they have created another generic Irish pub. Actually it is fairly smart and quite pleasant and it does at least have a Vocation IPA amongst the usual keg taps. There are two main areas alongside the bar, a side annex with a pool table and a fair-sized terrace at the back. Ignoring the fake Irishness and lack of ale it is not a bad pub.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Yard
To find this bar, we took an immediate left down the side alley from the Crescent Inn. The pub was very quiet on our Saturday Eve visit. The barman told us that the place gets extremely busy later on, when the younger crowd fills the place and that they are open until 3am.
The place also promotes their own various types of burgers, which looked enormous. Three handpumps so we went for the Ilkley Mary Jane, which was fine.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Yard
The Yard is hidden away off Ilkleys main shopping street.
Once inside there is an L shaped room which has a stone tiled floor, the seating is pew type and normal tables and chairs, there was a TV to the right which was showing rugby, there is also a separate pool room to the right.
There were three three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Ilkley Ruby Jane which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Ilkley Mary Jane and a beer called Moustache.
The pub was fairly busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I quite liked this pub,one to take the wife to.
