A Sizzling Pub branch which succeeds in living down to their usual poor standard. It's another estate McPub in the ever-growing urban sprawl of cheap houses this side of Weston. It's a modern build, has a large car park at the side and features garden with plenty of benches and tables with clear views of the main road. There is also a children's play area. Wading through a sea of litter and fag ends you go through the main door and are greeted by Sizzling's signature stench, a potpourri of stale fat and poorly microwaved slop that I wouldn't feed to a starving dog. The large bar is open plan with a games area at one end. The games area has a pool table and a huge TV screen. There are other screens throughout the pub, even in the areas intended primarily for dining, and there are a few gaming machines. The two young barmen were friendly despite being overworked. Only one ale on, Butcombe Original, which was drinkable and very fairly priced. Keg choices were Peroni, Carling, Strongbow, Stella, John SMith's, Coors, Guinness, San Miguel and a clutch of Thatcher's. Not a destination of choice.
