Harlow Town Centre is classic 60's architecture, and the Clockhouse sits on the ground floor of an office building with a large wall mounted clock looking out over the former Market Square. These days the scene is reminiscent of many communist era city scapes before the fall of the Berlin Wall. There are tables outside if you want to soak up the atmosphere.
Stonegate operate this pub ,so the feel is very corporate. There is a large curved bar, with a pool table to the back right,a drop down screen occupies a stage area further up ,while at the front right side there are a series of high tables and high seating booths.
The left side is larger and has a lot of dining type tables, more seating booths and less sports screens than the right side. The pub stays open until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights,so the large speakers and ceiling mounted moveable lights no doubt come into their own then.
There are 5 handpumps with both Doom Bar and London Pride "coming soon" leaving a choice between GK IPA and Bombardier (NBSS 2.5,dull ,£3).That's a line up from hell !
Cheap food (2 meals for £8.99) and cheap drinks are the theme here, besides BT Sport and Sky.There are only two pubs in the town centre, the other being a 'spoons ,and this one attracts Harlow's finest.Lots of body art, colourful language ,with a beady eye out for strangers this is hardly a relaxing place and I felt under keen and constant observation.Friendly it is not,and 2am on a Friday night could be interesting.

Not a very inspiring pub, just a room with a load of furniture and screaming kids thrown in. Just Broadside on as the real ale which was in fair form.
