Still a traditional two bar village pub, new owners have improved the beer range. There are now four pulls, with Rudgate Battleaxe, Theakstons Best, Roosters Yankee, and a blank. The public bar at the left of the pub has screens and machines and a pool table. The lounge has a dining/ carvery area off to the side. This one is linked to the Grantham Arms and the Tap on the Tutt.

A white painted brick building with front and rear parking spaces, located up a side road to Skelton on Ure off the main road out of Boroughbridge going north. There are two bars and a dining area off the smaller bar. The left hand bar is a bit bigger with a raised area with banisters lurking to the side, also has a games machine. Both bars are fairly similar, the bigger one having a bit more of a public bar feel about it. White painted walls with some pastel prints, a flag and carpeted floor and a mix of tables and chairs with a few benches. The pub hosts live music occasionally and other events. A bit quiet when I called in, it's on the outskirts of nowhere of course being in what is essentially a two street village, but it was a friendly atmosphere and the staff were pleasant. The beers were the usual range of kegs plus four handpumps spread over the two counter faces with a choice of John Smiths Cask or Theakstons Best, neither are earth-shattering beers and the cellarmanship here didn't change that. The pub currently has a for sale board up.
