As OB says a very impressive building. I've had some poor experiences with Fifteens in Wigan in the past, but I saw all the CAMRA awards and went for a pint of cask. It was cloudy and I was pretty sure it shouldn't have been, so I took it back. It was changed, not exactly with good grace but my replacement Saltaire Blonde was in good nick. We decided to stay for another and I noticed that the original beers pump clip was turned around. I pointed this out and he said " Yeah, it was bottom of the barrel". No apology as such, but he was rather more affable whilst pouring my refill. We will probably call in again next time we're in St Annes, but they're still having problems with quality control in this chain.

A very impressive building on the main street, as described below by PSM in one of his splendidly detailed reviews the interior is the equal of the exterior, which alongside the internal photos will show you just how impressive. Very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit, six of the eight pulls were in operation with a wide choice of beers, including Craven VIP which appears to be Elland 1872 Porter in a different guise. Amongst all the pictures and stuff on the walls are a number of Camra awards.

One of the Fifteens empire of traditional northern pubs. in its heartland of Wigan this chain is struggling a bit nowadays and certainly can’t be relied on for decent ale, however this one seems to have a consistently good reputation. five of the handpumps were clipped on my Saturday evening visit but I couldn’t battle through the crowd of FOOTY LADS ordering bottles and shots so I eventually gave up and went for my train. frankly, the place is a bit worse for wear but it is still a stunning interior and it wouldn’t take too much investment to bring it back. I would return, hopefully on a day that isn’t a FA Cup final bank holiday Saturday.
