As others have commented this is a modern replacement of an old pub on the site and is now the ground floor of an office block. The one large rectangular room has a traditional-looking bar in one counter and has generally been done up in traditional style, eschewing the trend for industrial ducting etc. There are some interesting leather benched tables in the centre. Being a Saturday afternoon, half a dozen TVs were showing Newcastle humiliating Spurs at a loud volume. Alewise it is Greene King with guests: Abbot, IPA, Yardbird, Deuchars IPA, Tiny Rebel Cwtch, and TT Landlord, and at St James's prices too. Actually better than some of the older pubs nearby.

THIS PUB IS A NEW STRUCTURE TO THAT REVIEWED PRIOR TO 2017.
An almost brand-new building, the pub incorporated into the base of an office block. The interior is all fake Victorian dark wood, notional partitions with etched and cut glass, Victorian-style lighting and dark studded banquettes to much of the periphery, with traditional furniture. What wasn’t so traditional was the flashing games machine, four TVs (all unwatched, which along with the ugly ClearChannel board bathed the interior in a foul light) and witless drivel by way of a soundtrack; décor amounted to miscellaneous period prints. Customers were seemingly office workers and all smartly dressed, though plenty with language as foul as the lighting.
An unsurprising ale line-up, with one pump unused, GK IPA, Tribute (‘coming soon’), Portobello Westway Pale (‘coming soon’) and Landlord, which after an interminable wait was told that it was off; a reversed clip wouldn’t have wasted my time, so I left.
There’s nothing of benefit here and there are other better pubs in the area.

I’ve visited the Blue Posts a couple of times to watch the rugby since my first visit back in 2007. After my latest visit, one afternoon between Christmas and New Year, I thought I would give an update. The rectangular open plan interior houses an L-shaped bar counter in the left rear corner. This faces some raised seating in the front left corner and there is more raised seating along the right hand wall. Around the bar are some high tables and beyond more conventional tables and chairs. There are a few televisions that were airing World Championship Darts vis Sky Sports. This was muted in favour of some background music.
The bar supports a premium keg range and 6 hand pumps that were drawing Greene King’s IPA, Rocking Rudolph and Abbot Ale as well as Wadworth’s 6X and TT Landlord. The 6th hand pump was badged with two different Lilley’s real ciders. Greene King’s food menu is on all of the tables, a burger is priced at £13.
I found the service to be very friendly and the pub was comfortable due to not being very busy. I’m sure that I will find myself in here again at some point.
