I visited the Victory early on Wednesday afternoon last week and found an L shaped pub with a couple of locals at the bar. The bar is located to the right of the entrance and is stocked with standard draught products. To the left of the bar is a pool table and at the rear is a dartboard and a broken table football table that was leaning up against the wall. There are some plasma screens for showing Sky Sports and during my visit the screen behind the bar was showing horse racing at the request of one of the locals. Breakfast is served from 9:30 and a lunch menu runs up until 15:00. A few of the pubs around this area have branched into café dining to bring in some extra revenue - a sign of the times I suppose.
There is some seating out the front and at some point a telegraph pole has come crashing down as it still lies across the seating. There is some more seating to the right of the pub where there is a smoking shelter and outside TV.
The governor was polite enough, but I found it difficult to get comfortable being a non-regular. I think that I’ll give this place a miss in future.
