The Albion feels like one of my most visited pubs, so it's quite a shock to see in my review below that my first visit was in March 2025, less than 18 months ago. I'm reluctant to score a pub 10 on a short acquaintance, but I've had so many really good beers here, the pub itself is so beautifully preserved, and it's only the bonkers dogs that some people insist on taking around with them that have ever provided even a momentary fly in the ointment. I'm now at the stage where I find it hard to believe this is not the CAMRA Pub of the Year in Wales every year.

Called in here yesterday and cannot add much to Will's fine and detailed review. There was 10 interesting cask pumps on show and 6 kegs.Quite enjoyed my short stay here and will return here if in the area.

This was always on my radar when visiting Conwy for the first time, but I restrained myself to the extent of making it my third pub of the day. My pint of Dark Side of the Moose was so good, I had to check my memory of a very ordinary pint I had in Pembrokeshire last summer, when I concluded it was better in bottles. (I know - take me out and shoot me.) My estimation of the beer kept on going up, until the point where it had to be NBSS 5. Three nights later I went for two other beers, both very good (NBSS 4 but could have been 4.5 if I hadn't been afraid of getting carried away), then another two halves: Dark Side (not as good as before but still great) and a 3.4% IPA from local Snowdon Craft, which I rated 3.5 just for balance - just kidding, it's really good. But honestly, the beers here are in such beautiful condition that it's a must visit if you're in North Wales.
