The Shaston Arms has booth seating up the left-hand side and a snug at the very rear, most tables were empty because the ample seating outside was all being used on a pleasant Friday evening. A dividing wall runs the centre of the pub from front to rear, which I found a bit odd seeing as the pub isn’t that big. Up the right-hand side is the bar area with a serving counter up the right-hand wall before a couple of tables and chairs that face an old fireplace towards the rear. Beyond is some sunken seating across the rear wall. One of the two hand pumps was in use drawing Otter Bitter, and a craft keg selection was available alongside Guinness, that was served with an enormous head by the friendly governor. I liked the upbeat music and got comfortable quite quickly, it’s just a shame about the short pint.

Two former shops ,now a Hall & Woodhouse tied house with two narrow rooms with a very traditional feel.To the left a rank of small seating booths ,to the right the bar,then a bench seat opposite a fireplace,before both sides drop down to a small conservatory.It's all very traditional but the mindless muzak lowers the tone.
Sadly just H&W Badger ales in Fursty Ferret,Tanglefoot and Selector Gold (watery ,NBSS 1.5)
Badly let down by poor ale,not on the list for a revisit despite some internal interest.
