The Prince Albert is a compact Craft Union pub with a bar counter in the left rear corner that supports Standard keg alongside Birra Moretti. Banquettes run up the left and right-hand walls from the entrance to mid-way along where a dartboard sits on the right-hand wall. Beyond is a small seating area in the right rear which is faced by the aforementioned bar counter. Televisions throughout were airing muted Racing TV and Wimbledon tennis via BBC whilst some background music played. One of the better options on a stretch of Stockport where the pickings are slim.

Very busy at the time of my visit, with Stockport County's loss at Wrexham now history but Man City on the TV in the process of making themselves long odds on to win the Premier League. This is a football pub all right, with scarves, banners and other signs of allegiance for not only the two already mentioned, but Liverpool too! It feels like a small pub, made smaller by a large number of people enjoying themselves - and there were some outside in the back garden too. There was no real ale, just a reversed Doom Bar pump clip, so I had Worthington Creamflow, which was ok and only £1.15 for a half. As has been said, very likely the best of the pubs on this stretch, though the Royal Oak must run it pretty close now that they are both Craft Union pubs.

Certainly the best on this stretch in my opinion. It's a nicely decorated one roomer with a jukebox and a dartboard. Several TV's dotted about which were showing the horse racing. I got a friendly welcome from the barman and got chatting to a couple of the other punters, both of which were decent guys which is more than you can say for the clientele in some of the other boozers along here. Two handpumps on the bar, but only one on. This was serving TT Landlord at an amazing £2.20 per pint. That's the cheapest Landlord I've drunk for many a year and it was a well kept pint as well.
