The Crown is a small two roomed backstreet boozer on the edge of a high rise housing estate. To the left of the entrance is a public bar with a dartboard and a pool table that was being used by a small group of twenty-something locals. To the right of the entrance is a bar with high tables to the left and banquettes the right where there’s another dartboard and a fireplace that had a heater from Argos in front of it. DJ equipment was piled up against the right-hand wall, there was a radio playing in the background during my recent midweek evening visit. A central serving counter running along the rear wall serves both bar areas. The service was polite and the two older gents in situ were friendly, but the basic nature of the pub and the options of only standard keg or Madri mean that I’ll walk past next time I’m in the area.

A proper locals local. Everybody knows everyone else's business. A pleasant enough atmosphere during my Friday, early evening visit, but very, very sweary. Two rooms both neat enough, one with a jukebox. There's also a lot of Laurel & Hardy pictures around the walls. No real ale, so I had a half of Guinness. I doubt that I'll ever visit this one again.

A small corner pub. No real ale. A friendly place with local characters in the bar. Its not great beer wise but seems to have a real locals pub atmosphere. Though I was there of an afternoon.
