Good interior, excellent "pub grub style" food offering and friendly staff - shame about the beer! The trouble is, I am no great fan of Shepherd Neame beers: I'll tolerate them, but prefer various alternatives. This pub tries hard - surprised to hear it described as "posh" - and is well worth a visit, but the competition in the High Street tends to be better.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Vine Inn

Upmarket Shepherd Neame inn at the start of the wider section of Tenterden's attractive High Street. Remodelled and extended to create a range of split-level seating areas. Refurbished in a modern style, with light furniture and decor. Comfortable atmosphere. Three of the four handpumps were in operation, offering Master Brew, Spitfire and a fine pint of Late Red (£3.45). Overall, not a bad place to stop if in the area.

A "rather posh" pub in a pretentiously posh town. But they had a decent range of ales on, including the Shepherd Neame porter which is something you don't see in many places. The food was good, and bar staff friendly. Will be going back in a few months to try the next seasonal beer.
