This Toby Carvery is sat beside a canal and lake that is full of narrowboats, many of which belong to a boating holiday company that are based here. As the name suggests, this is primarily a carvery so I wasn’t surprised to find lots of elderly diners in amongst a few young families. The carvery takes up the larger open plan right-hand side of the pub, but there is some seating around the curved bar counter up the left. This area was completely empty due to all the drinkers being in the sun on the split-level front patio with the Canadian Geese and there massive shits. Doom Bar and Pedigree were available from the three hand pumps alongside some standard and premium keg.

A carvery place next to a canal. A totally boring gastropub with the usual stench of carvery food pervading the whole pub. Boring beer, boring food and a thoroughly bored visitor didn't make for a good pub. A typical open plan gastropub.

Modern building without character but the interior is better and it is possible just to drink here if you dont fancy a carvery.Bank's bitter and Marston's Pedigree were fine but if you want to sit outside by the canal ,you are served in plastic mugs. Not clear why this is necessary, this hardly looks like a pub where it will kick off.Cant believe they suspect boater of salting their glasses away!
