The sight of a handpump with a Timothy Taylor Landlord clip was a welcome sight as we entered, but unfortunately it went off immediately, leaving no real ale available. Apparently the next barrel wasn't ready to be served yet. As I recall I had a pint of Guinness. We were in here for our Sunday lunch, which was pretty good value for around £8 - £9 as I recall.
Seating was mainly booths with fixed bench seating, with one or two normal tables and chairs at the back. There's also a small closet at the back past the bar counter, with one largish table in it, which I imagine can be for a semi-private meal. As seems to be the case with most pubs in this part of the world, maritime decor prevails; not surprising for a pub named the Shipwright. There seemed to be some kind of net hanging from the ceiling above, with shells or something similar in it, and prints and the like elsewhere.
This is a small, fairly intimate, and friendly pub. I enjoyed the Sunday roast we had (choice of lamb, pork, beef or chicken) with homemade desserts. But a step up on the ale front would be a welcome improvement. It's certainly worth a visit, but ale availabilty seemingly can't be guaranteed.

Stayed at the Travelodge in Pembroke Dock and were recommended to visit the Shipwright which was just a short stroll away. It is a very cosy inviting pub and the food was excellent. My husband and I had a dish of Welsh Cawl. It was absolutely delicious and came with two bread rolls and butter. A better cawl we have never had. If you are down that way, try it and see.
