The Bee is part of the Marston's group, having formally been a Brakspear pub. Brakspear Gravity is still available and they also had the appropriately named Brakspear Oh Bee Joyful on a second handpull. It seems this beer wasn't brewed specifically for the pub and it was a reasonable attempt at a winter ale. Two other handpulls were unclipped. Ciders were Strongbow and the 3 Thatcher's fruit ciders.

The drinking space is L-shaped, as the pub is located on a corner. It is fairly dark inside. There is a pool table at the car park end of the pub. If using the car park itself, be sure to enter your registration at the bar. Music was fairly awful. Despite it only being the 4th day of Christmas, locals were complaining about the Christmas tunes being played. The replacement music didn't make us want to stick around for long. Had it not been so cold outside, I might have chosen to sit on one of the pavement-side tables. A wifi code is provided.

TV screens and framed posters were offering drinks promotions, such as 2 for £11 on the cocktail of the month. I always see this as a bit tacky and probably representative of the pub itself and the clientele it is trying to attract. This was the last Burnham pub to appear in a Good Beer Guide (2018). I can't see it re-entering the Guide anytime soon.

At the top of the High St, overlooking the junction. Looks like it was a Brakspear pub a few years ago but no sign of this in evidence now. L-shaped interior, a knock-through of what once may have been quite a characterful multi-room pub. Made up inside to a decent standard, the best place to bag a seat is the small booth with a pair of old pews facing each other. Three ales over four pumps; Brakspear Bitter, Wychwood Hobgoblin and an unexpectedly leftfield offering of Revisionist Canadian Red (a little long in the tooth but tasty enough and at £1.75 a half, less than I expected). Just a couple of old boys in situ but the barmaid was friendly enough. Live music Saturdays.
