Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Dog and Pickle

Brightly lit pub with an open fire to the left as you walk in. Music was playing on my Thursday afternoon visit. Dogs and children are welcome and a wifi password is available. To the right-hand side of the entrance, there is also a dining room alongside an outdoor area which features some turf and some undercover seating.

This is a pub that is clearly popular with CAMRA. A plaque to the left of the entrance shows that CAMRA's first members were signed up here. These days, the pub can still be found in the Good Beer Guide and there are 3 handpulls. The regular ale is Wye Valley HPA. For my visit, Purple Moose Snowdonia Ale was a guest, with the third handpull unclipped. Camden Pale was on keg and the cider was Inch's. Drinks lists on each table also listed wines, cocktails and milkshakes that could be purchased. A wine tasting evening was being advertised.
