Work is under way to get the pub ready and Admiral Taverns expect it to be back up and running 'in the next few weeks'.

On the interior walls, the name is cunningly amended to "Da Rock Bar," reflecting the fact that the pub is very much rock music orientated. There are pictures and paintings of several rock stars and bands on the walls and various items of memorabilia scattered around the shelves, including real electric guitars. Appropriately, rock music was playing on the sound system, quite loudly considering it was Saturday afternoon. The raised floor area at the rear could be used for dancing or to accommodate bands, and I imagine The Daroch gets pretty lively on weekend nights. Drink-wise, it's relatively expensive for Gourock, with Guinness costing £3.40. John Smith's, Tennent's, Fosters and Kronenbourg lagers and Strongbow cider are also on draught.
