In no way anything to do with a Croft, this is a large knocked-through pub that retains some distinct areas. The right hand side has full length wood panelling, banquette seating, live football pool table (to rear) and a mounted stags head. Through a tiled floor bar area to the left hand side which is smaller but fairly similar sans panelling and much more rowdy. The bar has some nice stained glass (or plastic?) uppers. Two pumps, just Caledonian Flying Scotsman available which was ok. About as boringly average as you could imagine, overall.

Despite the name, this is really just one big lounge, built around a central bar area and serving food. Some customers were eating and others drinking, but there is no separation between bar and restaurant. A pint of Fosters lager cost me £2.90 and Heineken, Amstel, Birra Moretti and Tennent's lagers, plus Guinness, McEwan's 70 Shilling, John Smith's and Strongbow cider are also on draught. I also had an excellent, reasonably priced breakfast here in the morning.

A real gem, great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Stopped in to watch live football only to spend the whole evening in the pub. It seems the rest of the town must think the same because everyone we asked about a good pub mentioned the Crofter Bar.
