A year and a half on from my previous visit here and some things have changed, while other things are much the same. The whisky-botherers are still very much in evidence at the bar, with their endless questions and massive orders. Seats still turn over quickly and the buzz of conversation continues to drown out the background music. There's ales pouring on 3 of the 4 traditional pumps, but I'm now paying £4.95 for my pint, though this is still cheaper than most pubs in Central Glasgow, just not the bargain price I encountered before.

Overall though, the Pot Still remains a great pub and a destination for beer lovers (and clearly, whisky lovers as well).

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Pot Still

Attractive pub with a split-level interior and a tall bar-back featuring a huge array of malts (with over 1,000 claimed, some requiring a ladder to reach). Not been in since 2013, but little of seems to have changed thankfully, with traditional furniture and décor and unusual decorated ceiling beams above the main part of the bar. Four handpumps, offering Stewart's Pentland IPA, Harviestoun Vienna dark lager, Adrift from Otherworld (£4.45) and Cromarty Pibroch. Good atmosphere, and well worth seeking out.

My daytime visit found a modest sized crowd of about two dozen, so I soon found space at a table. My half of Skye IPA was in very good condition (NBSS 4). The immense collection of malts was probably the biggest I have ever seen, but I overindulged in whisky last night so I resisted temptation. As mentioned in the previous review, the cask beer is gobsmackingly cheap here - my half was £1.88, a not unreasonable round up of half a penny compared with one of 14p (from half of £5.70 to £2.99) in the previous pub. Small amounts, but the difference is in the attitude, it seems to me. I returned the next day for another very good half: Skye Blaven 5% (NBSS 4) and a reasonably priced malt (Old Pulteney £4).
