The adjacent Highlander Cafe Bar, which is part of the Gordon Arms, is really the public bar of the Hotel, but there is also a rather staid lounge in the main section of the building which is open to the public. It is slightly more expensive than the Highlander, with Guinness costing £3.45 as opposed to £3.40. Like next door, Belhaven Best, John Smith's, Tennent's lager, Strongbow cider and Stowell's wines are also on tap. Mainly, though, it was occupied by people eating.
