Small hotel tucked away in the corner of the village square by the church. The interior has been modernised with lots of light wood which does not really gel with the Victorian building. The emphasis seemed to be on food, with many tables laid up and reserved. Draught beers on offer were Lushingtons, Tribute and Sea Fury and condition was fair (Cask Marque). Looked ok for eating but not much atmosphere.

This is a wonderful example of garish Victorian architecture. This is a detached pub with rear beer garden and front patio with three tuns in it. The pub is a cottage style, and is in stone, with two upper bow windows and two Gothic dormers. The interior now has one open plan room that curves around the serving bar. It is in white and wood panel, with a nice stone fireplace. The loungey bit is the the right and a bar-ish bit to the left, where there is a pool table and a dart board. There is a TV, but it wasn't on and the music was general at a decent level. There is a mixed selection of pictures on the walls; St Keverne, some bistro art, posters and some of shipwrecks (to cheer you up!). The service was friendly and a few locals were in. Beer; usual tap stuff with St Austell Tribute and an OK Sharpe's Doombar on handpull. Happy enough to have popped into for one - look for the photo of WWI recruitment outside the pub - makes you think.
