Cask here was Wye Valley Butty Bach, Cwtch Red ale from Tiny Rebel and the Welsh Pale from Glamorgan Brewing. Keg offering of Guinness, Tiny Rebel, Pravha, Alpacalypse, Peroni, Madri, Aspall, Rekorderlig strawberry and lime cider and the Capa Citra pale ale from Flowerhorn.
The bar area is to the immediate left of the entrance. Initially a stone tiled area with some fitted wooden bench seating around the bar area. The bar area is a mix of stone walled and dark panelled wall board. A single screen in the bar area was showing the Euro footy with commentary on my visit. Beyond the front bar area was a rear bar area with a separate bar counter offering some of the keg beers and the space had a mixture of banquettes serving tall tables and regular tables and chairs. The rear of the venue, also bare boarded, had a banquette down the right-hand wall serving regular tables and some sofas serving regular tables with then and area with regular tables and chairs by the rear fire grate. The rear of the venue had a poppy soundtrack rather than the footy commentary of the front bar. It is a pretty classy hotel, and the bar is calmer than some of the busy pubs on the high street.
