I wasn't expecting to find anywhere open on a Tuesday lunchtime, especially after a bank holiday. But this place is thriving: gleaming exterior, spotless interior, really friendly staff - who obviously know their regulars - and full of people having food. (I wouldn't have brought sandwiches if I'd known.) Table bookings were coming in thick and fast when I was there. Fairly offbeat range of drinks - Amstel, Doom Bar, Cruzcampo, Birra Moretti - as well as the Valleys pub staples, John Smith's and Carling. Quiz night on Thursdays; I'll have to recruit a team for a flying visit. Atmosphere slightly marred by pop music on the radio: not overloud, but instrusive enough if you were on a date, I guess. It's definitely on my list for a revisit when I have more time.
