Nothing much to add to the previous reviews the beer choice the same as JAQPTIO found in May last year. Nothing much has changed in the 15 or so years I’ve been visiting this unspoiled pub with its deco style in the main bar and small front snug. One change, slightly unwelcome to this dinosaur is the revamp of the toilets to unisex versions. Never mind that, the beer’s still good.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bath Hotel
Well preserved two-room pub with quite a plain but attractive heritage interior. The larger bar at the back benefits from lighter woodwork whereas the lounge snug in the angled corner (with a serving hatch) has darker furniture and decoration, with decorative glazing in both parts. On this long-overdue revisit, I found six real ales on handpump: Acorn Barnsley Bitter (£3.80), Bothy from Zapato, Abbeydale Deception, Bradfield Plum Bitter, Titanic Plum Porter and Thornbridge's Jaipur. It is a bit surprising that this traditional pub has maintained its character intact without being 'done up' (or 'done over', as so often seems to happen), and also quite unusual to have retained such a place this close to a main city street, but definitely recommended.

Will Larter left this review about Bath Hotel
Thornbridge Brewery have given up their lease after 10 years, and the owner of the pub, Brian Johnson, has taken charge of running it again. (It was he who won the award for the sensitive restoration of the heritage interior more than 20 years ago.) The pub reopened last Friday, though there's still a bit of redecoration to do, including hanging some curtains, which Thornbridge evidently thought were unimportant, but Brian agrees with me that they improve the look, the ambience and the acoustics. Six hand pumps at present, with one cider and five beers, including Acorn Barnsley Bitter, Thornbridge Jaipur and a couple from local Bradfield Brewery, plus a number of keg beers and lagers.
