The Boars Head has a nice little seating area with bar access to the left of the entrance, but it was empty during a recent Thursday evening visit so I went into the main bar area up the right. At the front is a tile floored seating area with a fireplace and burner on the right-hand wall. The serving counter is found mid-way up the left-hand wall where it faces bare boarded standing room only and at the rear is more tiled flooring and seating. This is primarily a music pub, but there was nothing happening during my visit other than some country & western background music. Standard keg was available from the bar that also supports three hand pumps, two of which were in use drawing Holden’s Black Country Special and Wainwright. I’m not a huge fan of live music so I don’t plan on returning.

I hadn't been in here since the late 80's. It was a music pub then and still is today. Quite a few in and all friendly. A decent pint of Wainwrights at a bargain price. Worth a visit.

One time (early 2000s) best pub in Kidderminster. It's had a bit of chequered history since then, closing, reopening and several landlords. Found myself in Kidderminster and saw a google review saying it had been retaken over again, along with some high praise.
All the ingredients that made it a success nearly 20 years ago are still there. It made for live music, with a large area for bands and two front bars. Quirky, band related, decoration as described below.
Its had a bit of a tidy up as well and the new landlord has seemingly bought a few old regulars here - an eclectic mixture of patrons, but importantly, busy for a Monday night.
Beer wise, the Wainwright Ale was in perfect condition and a Monday Madness promotion meant is was a bargain £1.99.
I wish them every success.
