Tidy location. A Waddies outlet; fairly modern interior but quite well done and cosy over a few areas with banquettes and a bit of tiling. Friendly place, got chatting with the old school landlord and an old-before-his-time local. Just Henry's on for cask but it was a fair serve (NBSS 3). Visit made memorable by an invasion of ducklings from the pond opposite, one of whom was fleet of foot and gave us a good laugh as the out-of-shape guv’nor chased it around.

A pleasant looking Regency style building in a commanding position overlooking the Green, as indicated by the name. There is a single L-shaped bar at the front with a mix of tiled and wooden flooring. This bar houses a pool table, gaming machines and a jukebox, and it has good views over the Green. There is a larger extension at the rear which could be used as a restaurant or function room in better times. Much of the car park, once the courtyard, at the side has been taken over by outside seating. It was a bit unfriendly when we first arrived, but it got more convivial once they realised we were harmless. There was annoying disco music playing in the background. The real downside is that there was no ale on draft, a huge let down for a tied Wadsworth pub in the Brewery’s home town. Bottled beers were available, but that simply isn’t the same thing. This could be so much better.

I got off the bus from Swindon and straight in here the start of my Devizes and Wadworth pub crawl.
The Bell is a Wadworth tied house,it is fairly smart inside with one room there was Henrys IPA which i had a drink of and was very nice there was also Wadworth 6X plus a seasonal ime not sure what that was,as i usually go for the Henrys IPA which i prefer to 6X.
