An odd mix of a pub, looking a bit gastro on entering but then it’s a traditional pub just badly modernised with laminate floors, grey paint and weirdly upholstered furniture. One square room with banquettes, chairs and tables in the front, a bit of high and low seating to the back. The counter is at the back with three pulls hiding at the end of the short end of the L shaped servery. A mix of T-Bar and solo carry a standard line up, local White Rat and Landlord were on two of the pulls, a bit average in spite of the Cask Marque rating.

The Thorn Tree is a standard looking town pub that is a very short walk from the town centre.
I had been told in a pub earlier that the Thorn Tree was closed due to a fire in the kitchen,there was a note pinned to the door which probably said the same.
Ime not sure when this pub is going to reopen.
