There are two rooms here, and I went in the right hand side where there's a beautiful piano in some fancy wood, possibly walnut, and no customers but four or five hand pumps, none of them clipped. So I went in the left hand side where there are no hand pumps and asked the lass what was the cask beer option. She said it was JW Lees Best, so I had a half which was pretty good but £5.40/pint. On looking through to the other bar I could see a Wharfedale pump clip leaning on the drip tray, so it looks like I'd just missed a local beer.

No pulls anymore! Otherwise unchanged.

Some change since last time, the lounge is much as before with six pulls, the public more down market, a little more down at heel and with no pulls either. A poor choice of poorly kept beer, Dizzy Blonde or Landlord. Sadly the Ticket Office opposite had chosen not to open so I waited amongst customers who bore more than a passing resemblance to Viz characters, both here and next door in the Station.

The Midland is one of two pubs opposite Ilkley train station.
Once inside this pub still has two separate rooms,i had a drink in the lounge which is to the left, this is a comfortable room which is carpeted and has comfy bench seating with chairs, there was a TV to the rear.
The separate bar room to the left is smaller and oblong shaped, there is a pool table in this room to the rear.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Hawkshead Bitter which went down well, the other beer was John Smiths Cask.
I though this was a pleasant enough pub to have a couple of drinks in.
