Food oriented village pub, but with a touch of sophistication, which is only slightly spoilt by the red fairy lights draped on the beams. Are their customers actually that tall? I didn't stay long enough to do a comprehensive survey. The background music is at the better end of the pop music spectrum, unless you can't stand Simon & Garfunkel, but a little too prominent. The beer garden seems pleasant, and is part covered. My half of Landlord was the best of the day (NBSS 3.5) but also the most expensive at £5.20/pint.

A long, low, old building, with stone flags and low beams at one end forming a more publike bar, through a velvet curtain the other three quarters of the pub is devoted to eating and is fitted with tables and chairs. There's a bit of vertical drinking space in the bar with some banquette seating and tables. Three handpulls in the pub section serve beers from Acorn, Black Sheep and Copper Dragon in very good condition. It spite of the gastro pub atmosphere it's a friendly place. There is a front patio with seating and a rear garden with leather and wicker furniture, the toilets are labelled Lasses & Lads.
