Old Boots left this review about The Malt Shovel Inn
A very attractive pub in stone with white bay windows and some interesting details. Sadly open plan inside with a raised area on the right housing a pool table and dart board plus seating. The street level bar curves round behind the U shaped servery and boasts screens, machines and piped music. The decor is fairly nice with mustard walls, laminate floors, button back banquettes and the usual old B&W photos of nearby. The counter is a workaday Victorian job with some neat cutouts, here we find two T-bars and a variety of solos with nothing exciting, two unclipped beer engines lurk round the corner, no market for cask here according to the barman. The details alluded to are some stained glass and carvings on the bay windows pilasters.
