Hi All, I heard today that the grapes will be re opening on New Years eve with new landlords and they would like to keep it as a community pub and with so many pubs shutting down its nice to know that this pub will be reopening I wish good luck to the new landlords and good luck to Gill and Dave

This pub is scheduled to close due to a rent dispute with the part occupier of the Indian Restaurant on Boxing Day 2013. However all isn't to be lost as it's to reopen a few doors down on opposite side of the street in what was a former stationary store which the present owners previous had open a wine/tapas bar by New Years Eve 2013.

Time for a revisit to do it before it goes me thinks and then see what happens with the new venture across the road.

This is a fantastic local pub having recently re-opened and serving super real ales/ciders and grolsh/carling lagers. it is not serving food, but with a curry house next door why bother! the perfect combination. It does serve the traditional snacks such as pork scratchings/pickled eggs and rolls/crisps and every sort of spirit you could ever imagine. This pub is a must try for a good atmosphere and a good pub to meet up in before hitting all the other pubs in the street, only if you can pull yourself away!
