The Coot is a long and thin pub with a bar along the rear wall that is bookended by two seating areas. In both of these seating areas are fireplaces that sit under plasma screens that are used for showing Sky Sports. The left hand seating area also houses a pool table and there is another pool table on a raised area to the left rear. Opposite the bar along the front wall is a raised seating area and piano. During my recent Saturday afternoon visit there were three or four other customers in this estate like boozer. The bar was stocked with standard keg products and the four hand pumps were doubled up with Fullers’ London pride and Sharps’ Doom Bar clips.
To the right of the pub is a large lawn area with some picnic tables dotted around. There is also a barbeque for the summer months. I did not see any other sign that food maybe available.
I found the service to be polite and the locals to be harmless enough, but I do not think that this pub is worth the walk from the town centre.
