Cask was Harvey's Sussex best and Ubu Putity. Keg range of Guinness, Madri, Thatcher's Gold, Moretti, Amstel, Sharps Atlantic Pale Ale and Sharps Cold River cider.

Classy small pub in the village of Staplefield. Some seating and parking out the front. Bar counter is just inside the front door with standing room only. To the left of the entrance is a small room with wooden floor and with traditional tables, chairs and benches and a nice log burner roaring away on my visit. Punters were largely packed into this space. Beyond this and so behind the small bar is a carpeted room with tables laid out for diners although in a much less formal sense compared to the more modern Jolly Tanners up the road. Walls in the venue are plastered with a variety of framed pictures that including quite a few wartime posters and images of the pub in yesteryear. There was a set of glass doors at the back of this space to an area out the back but much too dark to see what the outside space had to offer on my visit. Take care as venue not likely to be open in the early part of the week.
