The Kings Head is a long and thin pub with a car park to the left and four picnic tables on the forecourt. There is also an advertised garden that I did not see as my visit was on a recent cold midweek evening. Inside the pub there is a long bar that supports three hand pumps that were drawing Courage Best and Doom Bar as the third was unused. There is also a large standard draught selection and pub grub is served with the mains that cost around £6. To the left of the bar there is a pool area that houses two pool tables and a karaoke disco was set up to the right of the bar. A function room is advertised which is either the pool room or another area that I missed.
It was pretty busy in here with a young local crowd that weren’t the friendliest of people I have met on my travels this year. The service was unforthcoming and I’ve had better Doom Bar. To be honest this was a disappointing visit and I do not plan a revisit anytime soon.

As a full time professional musician with a couple of bands with large followings I tried to get a gig at this pub. Don't bother. I cannot comprehend how incredibly rude the staff were, and who insisted that I couldn't possibly be a professional if I wanted to be paid for a gig????????
Surely the definition of professional is one who gets paid to do their job....

if you like a pub with a quality live band experience on weekends then this is the place to be..
