Attractive village pub, with a large bar (having another seating area beyond) as you enter the left side of the original building and a smaller bar (with just a couple of tables) in the centre, both traditional in appearance. However, the games room - located up a few steps beyond the latter - is rather plainer and more modern in appearance. A covered decking terrace can also be found by the main entrance, and there is a patio seating area at the back too. As a Davenport's house, I found its IPA (£3.80) being served from the pair of handpumps, along with Doom Bar.

What a great pub this is. The landlady couldn't be more friendly and helpful.Serves a lovely pint, And the Sunday roast is pretty much like a home cooked dinner.Great value for money, When in the area again, I will definitely revisit. You won't be disappointed with The Elms.

A white rendered cottage style pub, with an extension built on the side and patio area.
The interior had two rooms that i saw. The bar is in the extension on the side and was in white and wood panel, with a pool table, dart board and TVs, with a music channel on at my visit. The seats in here were a little ripped. The lounge/dining room was still in the process of being refurbished, so the food wasn't on (the dining area was at the far end of this L-shaped room around the bar). It is a tidy room, in white and light green, with lots of prints of birds, landscapes and hunting scenes on the walls and there is a nice fireplace feature. The service was fine, the clientele mixed depending on where you go - the younger lads were in the bar, the maturer lot in the lounge - where karaoke started a little later.
Beer; tap stuff- being of the Highgate/Davenports range, with a decent Highgate MILD. On handpull there was Pedigree, which was a little flat. There was also a good Highgate/Davenports bottled range.
I liked this place, it had something for most people i think; a bar, with all the expected amenities and a nice lounge/dining area. When the new menu is up and running i hope to be back.
