We popped in here on Friday lunchtime to find only two other customers sitting having a bite to eat. There were three ales on tap, so we went for the Marksman and the Project Citrus Pale. The young barmaid was short changing the till and we had to point this out.
By the time we got to a table the two beers were as flat as pancakes. I summoned the manageress, who told us cask beer was like that. She was also very unpleasant.
The head brewer thankfully sorted the problem and explained the beers were poured badly. He immediately replaced the beer and problem sorted. Then two sets of customers arrived with their dogs to have a extremely loud barking session at the bar, so we were happy to make a quick exit. Can't see this place lasting too long in my opinion.

Large pub and restaurant on a busy road through Sutton Coldfield. The bar is slightly off to the left as you enter, with the brewing equipment slightly off to the right. Seating areas can be found both sides, but extend a fair way to the left. I had the pick of the lot, as I was the only customer inside. Two others were sat in the outdoor patio area at the front, having just finished a weekday lunch. Apparently there is also a large garden to the rear, which I didn't explore. If there were any further customers out there, they certainly didn't make their way to the bar during my visit.
The 4 real ales are all their own. Marksman, The Cup & 004 Oaks are the regulars. A fourth one was called Project Cask Citrus Pale. That was the one I chose, but it didn't really live up to its taste profile. Then again, I've never been a particular fan of Brewhouse & Kitchen beers. Discounts are available for CAMRA members.
The 2 bar staff didn't have an awful lot of work to do and a chef appearing from the kitchen also looked bored. With the Wetherspoon's just along the road having the lion's share of the town centre's drinkers and diners, I'm surprised this pub can stay in business. Perhaps it gets busy of an evening?
