Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Gate Inn

Quite a striking building for a live-music pub, with unexpectedly fancy glazing in both the front and side facades and other external decorative features. Once inside you find a slightly split-level layout, with three steps up from the side 'stage' to the bar / front seating area. Interesting, if slightly odd, mixture of traditional and modern furniture and décor. Landlord (very well priced at £2.95) and Old Speckled Hen available from the four handpumps on this latest visit.

A good traditional pub hosting a prominent position as you walk into town from the train station. The most striking feature being the large leaded corner windows. The customers in here were mainly mature blokes enjoying a Friday afternoons drinking both inside and out, as there were a few picnic benches out in the front. Three handpumps with two in use, serving Landlord and Old Speckled Hen.

When I first visited many years ago it was called "The Case Is Altered" which always struck me as a good name. It was a good pub then and still is now. We enjoyed an excellent pint of Landlord. Well worth a visit.
