Decent looking pub just outside the town. Pretty empty on my visit with just a couple of customers watching "Deal Or No Deal" on the large screen. One lonely handpull with a HPA badge turned around. A quick look across the keg fonts and it was a Purity Session IPA for me. I hadn't drunk here for about 20 years and I suspect it will be a long time before my next visit.

A 1930s looking detached pub in half undressed brick and half white render and black beam style, with patio area.
The interior has a couple of rooms, the one being a small bar to the left as you walk in by the side entrance. This room has been closed both times i have been in, but i know there is a dart board in it. The Lounge is in a mix of red and white, with wood panel and with a white and beam ceiling. There are cream seats, with plates, Tea-pots and other bits of ephemera dotted about and with the nice fireplace (with a good fire when cold) and tiled serving bar it is a nice, tidy room for the food that they serve. I didn't eat here, sadly. There is also a large pull-down screen for sport events. They were having an open-mic night at my last visit, but i got out before it started, so there was general music at a decent level as a backdrop. The clientele is friendly and it seemed brisk enough, the service was good, replacing a slightly turning Best with a Blond Witch when requested, without quibble.
Beer; tap stuff, with M&B MILD, on handpull there was Timothy Taylor Golden Glow (later replaced by Landlord), Enville Ale and Moorhouse Blond Witch
Another really good pub, and definately worth seeking out, i could stay here for hours!
