An impressive looking detached cream rendered pub, with beer garden and proundly displaying a date of 1693 painted on it's wall.
The interior has a single L-shaped open-plan room 'technically', but is divided into four areas. There is a games room at one end, with a pool table and dart board which is in a white and green colour and has a TV (not on at my visit). There are a couple of lounge-like areas at the other end of the pub, in red and white and green, with TVs, showing BBC 3 Top Gear at my visit, with prints on the walls. The main bar is between the two. It is in red, white and undressed brick and has a brick chimny feature with a nice little fire in a 'stove'. It has general pictures. The TV was on with the same programme. There was no music. The service was fine and the clientele a family and few other locals. The place does food, but i didn't eat so can't comment on that.
Beer; all tap stuff, no real ale, with Banks's keg MILD.
This is a nice tidy place, it is just so sad it doesn't have a real ale - and perhaps one too many TVs! It seems really good for families and if you are happy with keg beer, you should be comfy enough here.
