Boring gloomy Holdens pub with the inside painted the colour of a newborn baby’s filled nappy – what sort of idiot at the brewery signed that off? My Golden Glow rubbish (NBSS 1.5) and only about another half dozen punters were in attendance on a Saturday night in December, we all ditched our beers headed off after 5 minutes. Voted worst pub of the weekend.

Another decent Holden's pub. I arrived at about 2.55 on a Wednesday afternoon to find it shut. Fortunately there was a regular waiting outside for it to open at 3. There were 5 customers outside when it opened at about 5 past! Worth checking the opening times before you walk up the hill to it!
On the beer front the Golden Glow was excellent and the locals were friendly.

A decent back street locals pub, where we were made very welcome and also greeted by the pubs dog Bella. Holdens have refurbished the pub extensively both inside and out. The interior had a central bar area which had a stone clad bar front and a brass counter top. The floor was tiled in green and cream and the wall panelling was a sage colour. Brass lamps hanging over the bar and a wood burning stove were another added feature. There were three Holden's and a Holden's special on handpump on our visit. Their beers were well kept and the pub was comfortable.
