The beer quality in here was sublime! No wonder it received a Camra award last year. We sat lounge side, which was very comfortable and stayed on for a while, chatting to the local postman, who also enjoyed this pub.

Some good detail on this thriving local boozer below.
It's easy to see why this place appeals with a good food offer, a decent range of beers and plenty of sport to watch on the telly. Long may it thrive as it's a comfortable and friendly place for a pint.
Beers on were: Salopian Shropshire Gold, Ludlow Gold, Ringwood Fortyniner, Courage Best and Pride. Not a bad range for what is essentially a back street boozer if a little heavy on the nationals. The Fortyniner was excellent and slipped down.
A very good local pub.

A mid terrace local with three distinct rooms. To the right of the entrance a narrowish carpeted lounge,to the left a room devoted to rugby with a large display cabinet,a flat screen, also carpeted and with fitted bench seating .Both rooms have bar access while at the rear of the building is a small restaurant with around 24 covers but pretty much full on a Monday evening. The smells coming from the busy kitchen next door were very tempting.Outside there is an A board listing different themed food nights .I didn't eat but it all looked well cooked.Live music also features in this back room,no doubt after food service has finished.
I liked the seperation given to the three rooms, this is a very comfortable pub to spend some time in.Six handpumps ,of which one was for cider, with a variety of national brands and an excellent Ringwood Fortyniner.
Deservedly in the 2014 GBG and well worth popping in for a decent pint or something to eat, dont miss this one if on a crawl around Cov.
