Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Shannon
Despite having done my research, when I got here, I was 100% convinced that the place was closed. With no sign of life, I did a full circuit of the building (which can be found in a very undistinguished local shopping 'centre') and nearly left. However, I decided to push the only plausible door to see what happened, and surprisingly I found the place open. As a very basic estate pub, there is little to say apart from it also having a pub sign under the name of The Tunnel (with the Wast Hill canal tunnel directly underneath). No real ale of course, so went for the Worthington's (£3.10) as the least worst option from the few keg taps.
