Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Trent House
Wedge-shaped corner pub with an alehouse-style refurbished interior in the bar area, so quite traditional in some ways. Five cask ales on handpump: London Pride and Butcombe Bitter a long way from home, Northern Monk's Sup, Rocket Brigade IPA from Cullercoats and Blonde Star from Anarchy (£5.80 with a packet of peanuts).

This one feels like a stripped back student dive with two floors. basic boozer with very very basic toilets, but good beer and eclectic jukebox. Worth a visit i’d say but prepare yourself first.

An enjoyable walk here if you approach uphill through St Thomas's Crescent, this pub looks to have been added a fair bit later than the surrounding curved terrace. Pitched at the student population, there’s a plethora of music posters and old pump clips on every surface. Stripped-back décor inside (perhaps too much in places eg the tatty bar front) it's an original boarded floor, plank bench seating and exposed brick behind the bar. Features of note include an old arcade machine and the hundreds of old Newy Broon labels on the ceiling. There’s also an upstairs room which was unexplored by me. Five pumps with four interesting ales and Thistly Cross cider. My Broon Toon wasn't a particularly enjoyable beer but I suspect the fault lay with the brewer rather than the cellar. Whilst it isn't necessarily worth slingshotting out here from the pub metropolis area, it's worth a look-in if you have plenty of time or want to try somewhere new.
