A cavernous modern overhaul pub. White tiled bar back, ‘groovy’ music and grey/brown shades throughout a knocked through old multi-room pub. 8 pumps with 4 on; 2x GK and 2x Crafty Brewing, a local brewery. My snifter of the Best was OK (NBSS 2.5) though the lack of punters on a very late evening visit wasn’t exactly helping throughput. Overall – filled the requirement for a quick one after a gig nearby.

The Stoke is a nice looking pub that is a short walk from the Robin Hood pub.
Once inside there is a large opened out room running the width of the pub,the room is bare boarded and the bar is on the left side and there is an open pizza oven to the rear of the bar, there is a pool table to the far left.
The seating is normal tables and chairs.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Milk Street Funky Monkey, which went down well, the other real ales were Hogs Back TEA,Doom Bar and GK Abbot.
The TVs were showing cricket and decent background music was playing.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a drink in.

A long internal space, semi-divided into three, maybe four sections. The middle section houses the bar where the room returns back leading to an open pizza kitchen. They looked good value if you like that sort of thing with mini 6" versions available if you just fancy a snack. The far right hand end had a pair of pool tables and a pinball machine (Indiana Jones) plus some seating away from the tables. Unusually the TV in here was showing some ice hockey game while the football was shown in the bar. Nearer to the bar an internal space had more comfortable seating and a piano, most seating around the bar area being at stools.
I arrived here to find a mini beer festival on the go showcasing beers from the local Little Beer Corporation all on stillage however they were all £4.50 across the range which I felt was excessive so I stuck with a pint of Andwell Spring Magic from the bar at a more sensible £3.85. Others on were Dorking Smokestack Lightnin' and Hammerpot Vinery Mild. One was reverse clipped. Scores of beermats stuck to various surfaces suggest an ever changing range.
Shelves contained a fair old selection of games and a few books, various events were listed, comedy night, zumba whatever that is, a quiz and 80s dance night. There is a nice enough bit of garden to the side.
I liked it here, it was nicely busy but not too much so and had a good mix in from older couples eating, lads playing pool and a few watching the match on TV. A good double up with the pub opposite.
