Close to and obviously named after the exclusive public school nearby, the pub looks very appealing on approaching. The interior however is rather sanitised and bland, the beamed ceiling is painted white, the wainscoting is olive green and decor is minimalist. The room is J-shaped with a dartboard at the end of the longer section, there is outdoor seating on both elevations with umbrellas. Karaoke and poker evenings are advertised.
Boards advertise locally sourced dishes but no one was eating during my brief Saturday afternoon stop, just a few stool seated barflys of both sexes with a limited knowledge of adjectives that do not begin with "F". Unexpected I'd say around here but that's what I found.
Two on, Otter Bitter and Bombardier Gold. I expected more from this pub having driven by several times previously.
