Fairly sizeable and well appointed pub. The interior is spacious with lots of different sections, all meticulously decorated. Tables all had salt and pepper on them, but being a Sunday evening, food service appeared to have finished for the week.
To the rear, there was a nice outdoor patio with a young group of people and a child. As I arrived, news had broke that Joe Biden was standing down from the US election, which seemed to bring much happiness to one young lady who proclaimed herself to be a Trump fan!
At the bar, there were just 2 real ales - Black Sheep Best Bitter & Three Tuns Best, with 3 unused handpulls. Background music was playing and I spotted at least one TV. Wifi had to be registered for. Events such as a music festival planned for mid-August also take place.
The pub has a nice setting overlooking the village green and pond. There are a couple of tables to the front and a car park to the right-hand side of the pub.
A nice pub in a lovely setting, but I couldn't help thinking that the ale selection could have been better, especially for a pub that is listed in the 2024 Good Beer Guide.
