Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Anchor
Small Greene King pub retaining a traditional two bar layout. Not surprisingly, given its location near the riverfront, it has a nautical decor theme. Some seating outside on the pavement. One bank of three handpumps in each bar, offering IPA, Abbot and St Edmunds (£3.40, and served in the right glass). Overall, not a bad spot for a quick pint.

Old Boots left this review about The Anchor
A Greeene King tied corner pub opposite the railway station and formerly known as the Railway, a pub on two levels in two styles. The front is a fairly typical L shaped bar in Victorian style with old wooden furniture, cream walls, dartboard, piano and a nautical flavour to the décor. At the back and at lower level is a darker lit dining area with a low ceiling and much more intimate atmosphere. The beer, dispensed by hand pump and keg was well kept and it all seemed quite friendly with mainly under thirties student like customers.
