If I had to choose my favourite pub of the day in Suffolk, it would just about be this one. The pub has a single room, split into two sections. The bar is off to the right when you enter, with seating off to the left. A sing-along was in progress when we arrived with participants all on the left-hand side. Snacks on the bar and on each table were a nice touch.
Further seating is available to the front of the pub and in a small yard to the rear, with some of the seating in an undercover area which also had a TV.
The regular cask ales are both from Earl Soham - Victoria Bitter & Sir Roger's Porter. Guests were Morland Old Golden Hen & Old Session Hen. Greene King Hazy Day was on keg and the cider was Aspall's.
We found the barmaid to be friendly and on departure a male voice called out from the outside area at the front to say goodbye. We assumed this to be the landlord.
Friendly village local with decent beer (I quite enjoyed my porter) and which is clearly a community favourite.
