This is a hotel with a rather plush bar area, a pool room at the rear and fairly extensive eating areas. As you enter the dining area is to the right and the bar further down a passage to the left. Behind the bar is a plush room with windows facing the street. Opposite the bar is a pool table on a raised wooden floored area. There were two TV screens blasting out music videos.
There are three hand pumps here which had one unused, Doom Bore and GK IPA, a choice that tempted me to walk out and have another in the Queen's Head. I went for the GK IPA (£2.90) which was in good condition but darker and sweeter than I remembered from years ago.
I really didn't take to this place although it's comfortable enough.

Once again UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. This just about sums up this sad hotel. It is a shame to see its decline. Used to be the thriving pub in Haverhill, now a poor shadow of itself.
Food in the carvery not too bad. Very expensive bar.
